6 Months Old!

Sticking out his tongue...

Looking cute in his firetruck pj's...

Playing airplane with Uncle Matt...

Feeling daddy's whiskers...

Matt & Hannah are engaged!!

Our sweet little Evan turned 6 months old yesterday. Seriously...where does the time go?! I can't believe that it was already 6 months ago that he was 6 lbs. 10 oz. and in the NICU hooked up to machines. Now he is over 20 lbs. and is such an active boy!
We have been having a good time hanging out and enjoying our family time. It is so nice to have Aaron home at night and on Saturdays. We had a good weekend and spent some time with Matt and Hannah. They got engaged on Friday, and we are VERY excited!! Matt came to hang out with us for awhile on Saturday and Sunday while Hannah was at work and we had dinner with them on Saturday after Evan's pictures. We had Evan's 6 month pictures taken, but he was not amused! We had to wake him up when we got there and the photographer was a little "wacky". I think he was frightened! We got a couple cute ones, but he was very serious in most of them. We are so used to seeing his big smile, but maybe we'll have better luck for his 9 month ones!
He LOVES Maddux and is always on the lookout for him. Every time he hears the dog bark, he smiles...I guess he thinks it's funny when his puppy is naughty! His new things are sticking out his tongue, playing with our faces, grabbing his toys, and getting wedged in the corner of his crib on his stomach. The last one is not so fun for mom and dad, who have to go in and turn him over when he gets mad!
We go to the doctor next week, so it will be fun to see how much Evan has grown!

Happy April 15th!

Our sweet little boy!
Evan and Miss Macie

Checking out his Easter basket

He LOVES the exersaucer!

Working on a little something in the exersaucer...

The end of tax season is finally here...yippee! We are excited to have Aaron home at a normal time and to be able to do things as a family on the weekends!
Evan is as cute as ever and will be 6 months old on the 21st. He is so much fun and such a little talker! He LOVES to roll over from back to front, put everything in his mouth, play with his toys, read books, hang out in the exersaucer, go for walks, pet Maddux, shop with mom, and ride in the car. What a sweetie!
We usually spend Easter weekend at home since Aaron works on Saturday, but Evan and I decided to spend it in Eau Claire this year. I had Thursday and Friday off and we were looking for something to do. We spent Thursday with my friend Jane and her little boy Cole. I didn't get any pictures because we were at the mall and there weren't any good photo opps. We walked around, shopped a little, had Caribou (the moms did), and sat in the comfy chairs at Ridgedale. It was great to spend time with Jane and see cute little Cole!
Evan and I met Aaron for dinner after work and Evan had fun watching everyone at the restaurant. He is quite the charmer!
We headed to Eau Claire on Friday and had dinner with grandma Mary Jo, grandpa Marv, and great grandpa Vern. He couldn't get over how big Evan has gotten! On Saturday we went to visit my friend Kristen and her kiddos...Ethan and Macie. We went for a nice long walk, watched Ethan play at the park, and then hung out at their place for awhile. Saturday afternoon we did a little shopping with my mom, then had a great steak on the grill dinner that my dad made. Yum!
We went to Hope Lutheran on Sunday morning for the Easter service. I was the youth director at Hope before we were married and Evan was baptized there in Jan. It was so great to see everyone and Evan slept through most of the service....even with the trumpets and bells!
We had lunch after church at my parents' house with my grandpa, Matt, and Hannah. Matt and Hannah had been in Milwaukee for the Brewer game, so we were glad that we could see them before we headed back to the cities. They love Evan!
Evan wasn't sure what to think of his Easter basket, but loved the bunny balloon that my dad gave him. He smiled everytime he looked at it and had some good "belly" laughs when my dad was playing with it!
We are excited that the weather is getting warmer and that we can start doing some fun things now that tax season is done!

A Boy and His Dog...

Maddux eyeing up the "crinkle star"!
Evan loves Maddux!

Thanks for letting us borrow this Isaac & Lily!

One of Evan's favorite toys is his "crinkle star". It is a terry cloth star that makes a "crinkle" noise when you play with it. Each point of the star is a different texture and one of them squeaks. Maddux seems to think that this is a dog toy and tries his best to get it. One morning Evan was in his car seat ready to go and Aaron and I were finishing getting ready for work. I came out of the kitchen and Maddux had jumped up and gotten the crinkle star away from Evan. Whenever Evan has it, Maddux tries to sneak it away from him when we're not looking. The other day Evan was playing with it and Maddux sat staring for at least 5 minutes! He was ready to pounce and steal the star at any minute, so I just had to get a picture. Evan doesn't seem to mind sharing his things with his pup and loves to watch Maddux. I'm a little concerned that the two of them may get into trouble once Evan is able to move around!
We went to Eau Claire last weekend to visit Grandpa Marv and Grandma Mary Jo. We went to Carter's birthday party on Friday night and Evan had a great time watching all of the kids! It was way past his bedtime, but he was a trooper...I think he'll be quite the party boy when he gets older!
Saturday I went to the Colfax High School production of Footloose that my good friend Carrie directed. Theresa, Kristen, and I decided to dress in 80's gear...complete with crimped hair, blue eye shadow, and huge earrings. It was a great night out and Evan had fun hanging out with grandma and grandpa for the night.
Today I took Evan to visit my old co-workers and the kids at Adventure's Plus. The kids were very excited to see him and he enjoyed watching them run around and sing karaoke! They must have worn him out because he fell asleep in the car and slept in his car seat for 1/2 hour after we got home!
Only 3 more late nights for Aaron at work and April 15th is right around the corner...yippee!
